Very well done! We all have different ways of approaching this, but my greatest take away was your advice on how to approach patients & families to explain what a Full Code looks like versus DNR. So many medical professionals 'do it wrong' ("do everything" "not let you live like a vegetable") and I spend a lot of time explaining, as a nurse, after the crisis what each Code Status entails and how that applies to your loved one. (And that includes a Full Code frail 98 yo grandma and a healthy 50 yo boxer who became a DNR with his first DVT scare.) AND... DNR does NOT mean DO NOT TREAT! (Surprisingly, something that all medical professionals need to be reminded of often.) Thanks for your perspective! Much appreciated!

I felt it is just an introduction to the topic Also,if I need more informations ,no references I can read it. For me as a consultant assisstant ,it gave me the basics but no updates ,no details. But regarding the review it is excellent ,and informative and will be fixed in mind rapidly but just these points that I missed Thanks alot

    AFONNE ALIMOLE, NP

Great illustration, clear explanations. Very nice pillar analogy. A good introduction to palliative care for all clinicians. Just to make aware that palliative care is not called upon only when curative treatment options are no longer being explored but can be provided alongside curative therapies with a focus on symptom management and advanced care planning discussions. Thank you.

Excellent information is an easy to explain way. I am an End of Life Doula and this makes it so much easier to explain to clients. Thank you.

This is a great explanation of code status and a very important topic for healthcare providers to be thinking about when speaking to family.

    ANGELA BOESHANS (NP Student)

It is very pertinent to an ICU patient in distress.
