Oxygen Hemoglobin Dissociation Curve Explained Clearly

Today I listened to my first MEDCRAM lecture which was Oxygen Hemoglobin Dissociation Curve Explained Clearly. The presentation was interesting. The quality of the audio was excellent. There were little bits of biochemistry that were enticing. Included were the essential clinical elements and key features that respiratory therapy students need to know and are frequently tested over. In addition the recording was around 8 minutes - it was not so long at to become tedious. For these reasons I review and rate this lecture with associated visual animations at the highest level. This is wonderful. I'm a nursing student and have some basic understanding of the dos and don'ts of O2 administration to pts. I also have working knowledge of ABGs, but I'm trying to tie it all in together with pt with comorbid pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases. Thank you so much. On a side note, I would really appreciate a lecture serious on the reliability of pulse oximeters for pts who have COPD and PVD. As I understand the process, so far, CO2 is reluctant to give the HGB seat up to O2. My question is whether a pulse ox device truly measures saturation and O2 delivery, especially in pts with PVD. I think a lecture on these topics would help students more fully understand ABGs and chronic compensation. Thank you again!
